How do I access news on my Amazon Kindle?

Customers with digital e-Edition subscriptions can read their news using an Amazon Kindle. The e-Edition on Kindle is considered a “non-replica” version, which means that while it provides the same stories as what appears in the paper, it doesn’t include advertisements, certain graphics and pictures, comics, puzzles, or other features. To subscribe to e-Edition, please visit this link or call 1-877-229-6397.

The instructions below show you how e-Edition subscribers can access their news on the Amazon Kindle.

NOTE #1: These instructions won’t work for Kindle Fire owners. A digital e-Edition app for Kindle Fire owners is now available. Click here for more information.

NOTE #2: San Jose Mercury News subscribers have an additional option. You can purchase a monthly $5.99 subscription directly from Amazon. This subscription on Kindle is considered a “non-replica” version, which means that while it provides the same stories as what appears in the paper, it doesn’t include advertisements, certain graphics and pictures, comics, puzzles, or other features. As an added feature, the news will be wirelessly delivered to your Kindle (3G or WiFi access required). To subscribe through Amazon, visit this link.
